SUMMARY:His Majesty King Charles III Highlights East London’s Creative Ambition During Visit to Eastbrook Studios
DESCRIPTION:His Majesty King Charles III Highlights East London’s Creative Ambition During Visit to Eastbrook Studios \nEast London’s growing status as a centre for UK film and television was underscored on Wednesday as His Majesty King Charles III visited Eastbrook Studios London\, London’s newest purpose‑built production facility. The visit marks an important moment for the region’s rapidly expanding screen sector and recognises the exceptional talent emerging from Barking and Dagenham. \nHis Majesty met students from Film Barking and Dagenham’s ‘Make It Here’ programme\, an initiative designed to create clear\, practical pathways into the screen industries for residents and learners in East London. The programme reflects the Borough’s long‑term commitment to ensuring that the benefits of increased production activity translate directly into skills\, employment and opportunity for the community. \nCentral to this progress is the partnership with studio operator The MBS Group\, Production Services and Solutions\, whose collaborative approach is helping to strengthen the Borough’s creative ecosystem. This joint effort is equipping local people with real industry experience and ensuring the region is developing a skilled workforce capable of supporting the UK’s future production needs. \nCllr Dominic Twomey\, Leader of the Council\, said:\n“This very special visit enables us to showcase the very best of our community\, our partnerships\, and our ambition as a borough.” \nFiona Taylor\, Chief Executive of Barking and Dagenham Council\, added:\n“Everything we achieve here takes collective effort… We’d love to welcome Their Majesties back in a few years to see the impact this work is having in our community.” \nWith Eastbrook Studios set to become a major force in UK production\, the visit highlights a bold and confident vision of a thriving creative hub where local talent is supported\, celebrated and central to the industry’s future. \nPhotos by Jimmy Lee
